Shining Your Christian Light

What is your Christian Light? The answer is, how does God & Jesus Christ see you as one of his children, in your relationship with him and the church, how you act, how you talk, how you behave yourself as a child of God.

In my travels in the military flying overseas, many times we left in darkness and after flying 12 to 15 hours we could see the plane flying out of darkness into daylight. It is so amazing to see how light separates itself from darkness.

God is not talking about the darkness we expect when the daylight ends and the night begins, he is talking about what type of life you live professing to be a Christian. The type of life you live as a Christian has a profound affect on those around you. How can they tell if you are a child of God if you act and live as they act. Your Christian light must shine on those whose live in the dark ways of this world to lead them to the true light Jesus Christ.

Living in Darkness is the sinful life that people live.

Matthew 5th Chapter, 15 - 17 verses, Ye are the light of the World. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let you light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.

You must remember that darkness runs from light. Many who live a sinful life run from the word of God and Jesus Christ because darkness cannot dwell in light, and they do not truly know God & Jesus Christ.

St John 8th chapter, 12th verse, Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Simply, put if you do not live for Jesus Christ, you live in darkness and you are spiritually dead.

1st John, 1st Chapter, 5 - 8 verses, This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all 6 if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin 8 if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves , and the truth is not in us.
